Integratis Consulting
Business Plan and Funding
The Brief
The Client is a Private Company, Limited by Guarantee, and also a Scottish Registered Charity. It was formed to transfer community facilities from the Local Authority back under the control of a community led organisation and for the benefit of individuals and families within the local area.
As part of a longer term master plan, the client wanted to commission consultants to develop a detailed Business Plan that would support a series of major funding bids and provide comfort and security to key stakeholders that there was a robust and sustainable business model in place to manage and operate community facilities.
The Client was also keen to ensure that:
- The plan would to be realistic and achievable
- It would be supported by all key stakeholders and funders which included;
- The Board
- The Local Authority
- Funders
- Customers
- The Local Community
- Sportscotland
- The business plan would act as a catalyst for further growth and development
- The plan would evidence the wider impacts that facilities and services would have for the local community i.e. Health and wellbeing, educational and social.
Our Approach
The approach we adopted for this project was geared around developing an in depth understanding of our client, their vision and ambitions and key objectives. It also focussed heavily on the local community, what their needs were and the key stakeholders who would benefit from the project. It was also critical to ensure that the project and its objectives and outcomes were aligned to the organisations who would potentially help to fund the project.
The business plan needed to demonstrate that there was a clear need, that the initial project investment was realistic and that there was a sustainable business model that could ensure that the community facilities developed were sustainable in the long term.
